goodman 90+ intermit. locking out

have a 6yr. old goodman 90+ locking out [1 flash ]
m# gms90904cxs s#0409798428 cleaned sensor and
replaced glow coil. the 1 flash on the panel is kind of vague,
anyone come across this?

One flash is a lockout due to an excessive number of ignition retries. The possible causes are:


Failure to establish flame.

• the cause may be no gas to burners, front cover pressure switch stuck open, bad igniter or igniter alignment, improper orifices, or coated/oxidized or improperly connected flame sensor.

or

Loss of flame after establishment.

• the cause may be interrupted gas supply, lazy burner flames (improper gas pressure or restriction in flue and/or combustion air piping), front cover pressure switch opening, or improper induced draft blower performance.

It is just going to take researching each one to see if you can find the culprit.

If it cant estabish a flame it may also be to no or a weak ground connection.

May be dirty burners and the flame not crossing over all the way.

It is gas valve.

if it is propane, check for burp tube blockage

ended up putting one of the large white-rogers universal glow coils in
and so far so good.

Are the drain tubes on the same side as the collector trap? If they arent the furnace acts irratic and can throw different codes. see it all the time on new installs. just a thought.

at 6 years it's likely time for a trap cleaning too.

Just posted about the same code. I had bad connections on gas valve. These things are always causing problems.

Check everything twice. I've had to add a second flame sensor to keep some of the goodman equipment running.

Good point for people not to familiar with amana/goodman. Also check to see if the fitting in the exhaust 90 (off the I.D. Motor) is plugged. Is the furnace sloped properly? OHM out the pressure switch to see if the contacts are dirty.

If the ignitor was working before I don't think you've found the problem yet (could be wrong). Other then dirty burners (which you can see) there's not too much else from there.
